You are a CFO, controller or financial analyst

Finally query your data, just by asking the question

Your figures already exist. They are scattered across the ERP, the CRM, four Excel workbooks and a Power BI report that never quite answers the question you asked. Ask in plain English and you get the figure, the chart and the export. As for the work that comes back every week, we run it without you.

Management-control demo: a question asked in natural language, the figure it returns and its chart

A typical week

Four hours to answer a thirty-second question

None of this takes a rare skill. It is just long, repetitive, and it comes before the analysis you are actually paid for.

The export, then the VLOOKUP

One extract from the ERP, another from the CRM, and half a day matching references that are not written the same way in the two systems.

Everyone else’s questions

You are the person who knows where the figures live. So everyone writes to you. Your own analysis waits until Friday evening.

The report that stops too soon

The dashboard shows margin is down. It does not say which customers, or since when. To find out, you reopen a workbook or go back to the BI team.

Monday morning processing

The same file to rework, the same control to run again, then the report to reformat. Every week, and twice as much at close.

What changes

What you stop doing

You ask, you get the answer

In plain English, the way you would ask a colleague. The assistant turns the question into a query, looks through your connected sources and returns the figure, a chart where it helps and an Excel export. No SQL, no IT ticket.

Colleagues help themselves

The sales rep who wanted “just one number” goes and gets it, within the scope their permissions allow. You get back the hours spent answering, and you stay the authority on how things are calculated.

Reconciliations happen without you

Cross-checking an ERP export against an Excel file and a customer database is no longer manual work. An agent does it, applies your rules and flags the lines that do not add up.

Recurring work runs on its own

The weekly report, the consistency check, the feed into your tracking database: once described, they run on schedule and you only step in on exceptions.

In practice

The questions you can ask

These are ordinary management-control questions. Each one today means an export, a cross-check and some formatting.

  • What is revenue by region this quarter, compared with last year?
  • Which customers have not ordered in the last 60 days?
  • Why did margin fall on product line B in June?
  • Give me invoices more than 30 days overdue, by sales rep.
  • Rank sales reps by lost orders this quarter.
  • Show budget versus actual on travel expenses, by entity.

Every answer comes with the numbers, and you leave with the chart or the file if you need them. If the result surprises you, you ask for the detail right away, without reopening a report.

Without even asking

Some of this work does not need you at all

Most of your time goes into handling: fetching a file, checking it, reformatting it, feeding a database, sending a report back. That work can be described once, and after that it runs without you.

Incoming files

Invoices, statements, supplier exports, payroll files. The agent extracts, checks, completes, then feeds your database or your ERP.

Recurring reports

The agent gathers the data, applies your calculation rules and produces the weekly or monthly report, ready to send.

Controls and alerts

Reconciliation gaps, breached thresholds, data missing before close: you are told, instead of finding out while re-reading the file.

20 hours a month saved on average

A development of this kind usually costs between €2,000 and €5,000 and saves around twenty hours a month. Return on investment arrives in under 3 months, at a fixed price known before we start.

What about Excel?

Nobody is asking you to drop your tools

Excel and Power BI do two things well that conversational AI does not. You keep them. You just stop asking them to do what they were never built for.

Excel

Unbeatable for modelling: building a budget, running a scenario, showing your assumptions. You keep it, and export results into it when that helps.

Power BI

Built to track indicators over time, in a stable shared format. It answers the “what”.

Ask This Guy

Takes the unplanned questions, the ones with no box in a report, and answers the “why”. Then automates whatever comes back every week.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to write SQL or code to use it?

No. You write your question in plain English, the way you would message a colleague. The assistant turns it into a query and runs it read-only against the sources you are entitled to see. If you can build a pivot table, you can use this.

Does our financial data leave the company?

Hosting is European and data access is read-only: nothing is changed in your ERP or your database. Permissions inherit from your existing tools, so each person only sees the scope already open to them. A deployment on your own infrastructure is possible.

How long does it take to connect our ERP or database?

A few days when the source is a SQL database or a tool with a standard API. Most of the time goes elsewhere: describing the business context, meaning what a column stands for, how you calculate margin, which tables are authoritative. That step is what makes the answers good.

What can actually be automated in finance?

The work that comes back identical: integrating incoming files (invoices, statements, supplier exports), reconciling two systems, consistency checks before close, producing recurring reports and threshold alerts. In practice: if you perform the same handling every week, it can be described once and then runs without you.

Are the answers reliable on financial figures?

The figures come from your sources, not from the model: the assistant generates a query, runs it and returns the result. You can ask to see the detail and the source behind any answer. We also expose documented tables or views rather than the whole schema, which leaves less room for shaky interpretation.

Do our teams set this up, or yours?

Either works. Our engineers can take the whole thing end to end, or work alongside your finance team and IT so you can extend the use cases yourselves afterwards. In both cases what is built belongs to you and stays portable.
